Did you miss your chance to play the latest beta of Starcraft 2? Many have reported their beta versions would not start due to a failure in the launchers among other issues. There is an updated available! You are not alone in this (thanks to Nibbits). As soon as the new Starcraft 2 patch is released, the launcher will be immediately updated to keep you playing 24/7. No more trying to find another game to play.
This new launcher has been tested on patch 11 of Starcraft II. It works like a charm. Here is some details on what this new Starcraft 2 Single Player launcher will do:
- You can play Starcraft II beta or watch replays WITHOUT a beta key.
- It will allow you to change race, your color, your starting position, the maps, and even the AI difficulty.
- You will also get 3 cool new skins (one for each of the races).
Step-by-step Guide for the Launchers.
How to install the Starcraft 2 beta Single Player Patch
- Download the patch file.
- Run the file as administrator (this is only for windows 7 and vista users).
- Right Click on the file, Select Properties, then Compatibility, and finally Check the Run as Administrator Box
- Extract the files to your default path of the Starcraft II Beta Game.
- Should look something like this C:\Program Files\StarCraft II Beta\SC2ALLin1
- If your default location is not this one, make sure you remove all of your non-game files from the beta folder.
- For all of those who are not using windows 7 or vista, you might need to get this file instead.
- Install after you have downloaded this file.
- Now make sure you have the “verdana” font installed. You can check if it is by going to your Fonts folder on your harddrive (C:\Windows\Fonts). If you do not see this font, please install it. The game will crash without it.
- Finally, you can download the latest AI. You will want to test if this will work with the latest patch.
- Extract the latest AI into your game folder (C:\Program Files\StarCraft II Beta\SC2ALLin1\ai\scai) and replace the files prompted.
