There have been many discussions about the starcraft ii beta keys. There was a promotional offer for all pre-orders of the game. If you had purchased a pre-order version of the StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty game before May 17, you were a lucky one to get a free beta key. The pre-ordered games were extended to online and downloadable orders or delivered physical orders of the game.

On the Battle.net forums today, Blizzard has posted that the StarCraft II beta would NOT be closing on May 31st.
According to Blizzard, the beta was extended in order to “prepare for the final phase of beta testing”.

After the recent news of Blizzard ending their Beta period on May 31st, there have been some recent patch updates to the game. Initially the beta period was strictly invite only, however, with the free beta keys in the pre-sale orders, the floodgates were open. Now several patches later, Blizzard had introduced some new features. One of these being the Facebook incorporation of Battle.net. which if you ask me, is one of the worst ideas ever.
With the latest release of Patch 13, Blizzard has now released Battle.net Map Publishing. Gamers can now create their own custom maps and share them with other games. Using Battle.net players can now upload their own maps, play other custom maps, and other custom mods.

The build for the South Korean market of StarCraft II was just released on May 11. The anticipated foreign release will have censorship added. StarCraft 2 will have all blood, smoking and foul language removed. The blood will be recolored into blog globs. The smoking will be removed from cut scenes and all “vulgar language” will be removed.
